MILITARY SPECIFICATION SHEET
INSULATION SLEEVING, ELECTRICAL, SHRINKABLE WITHOUT HEAT, CHLOROSULFONATED POLYETHYLENE FLEXIBLE
This specification is approved for use by the Naval Air Systems Command, Department of the Navy, and is avail- able for use by all Department and Agencies of the De- partment of Defense
The complete requirements for acquiring the sleeving described herein shall consist of this specification and the latest issue of MIL-I-85080.
REQUIREMENTS:
Continuous operating temperature range: -35°C (-31°F) to +150°C (+302°F). Mode of shrinkage: The heatless shrink sleeving shall recover to a predetermined
diameter upon exposure to the atmosphere. No external sources of heat are required.
Color: The sleeving shall be furnished in a black color that conforms to the requirements of Class II of MIL-STD-104. Other colors are available.
Longitudinal change: ± 10 percent.
Military part number: The military part number shall consist of the basic number of this specification sheet and dash numbers as shown below:
M85080/4 - X XX - X
Color Code designator (see 1.2.2) Size identifier (Table I)
Class (where no classes are specified, the numeric "0" shall be used)
Specification sheet
Example: Black, 0.672 inch as supplied I.D. sleeving shall be identified as
M85080/4-005-0.
